    I got ask!

I have read responses here on several threads over the past few months that there are people that own both the Canon 6d and the Canon 5d (Mk II or III). I got to ask a 2 questions.

Why do you own both of these full frame cameras?

Which one do you use the most and why?

Sorry. The curiosity is killing me.

    Bob,

I'm guessing you won't find anyone who has both. However, I bought the 5D3 after considering both. AFAIK, the 6D offers only a few advantages: slightly better sensor performance in low light, a center AF point that can handle lower light (I don't know if that is still true after the most recent 5D3 firmware upgrade, wifi/gps, and lighter weight. On all other counts, the 5D3 is the better camera. There is a very big difference in the AF systems. Personally, I don't see much reason to own both. I do own two bodies, but my second is an APS-C because for my purposes, that is more useful than a second less capable FF. However, YMMV.

You mean members here have written that they own both? Who then, specifically?

Then it is probably better to Private Message them and ask them: that would be a more secure method of attaining precise answers to your questions, rather than assuming that those members will necessarily read a thread which title has little significance to the questions that you want answered.

I own three 135 Format DSLRs (5D Series): I really don't need three anymore. Having three is a residue from working professionally where I needed System Redundancy and second working camera and now, there is more worth in me keeping three 5D Series cameras, than getting the cash in selling one or two of the older of them.

I would consider any working Professional might have a kit comprising a 5DMkII (or MkIII) PLUS a 6D as the backup or second working camera, rather than TWO 5D Series Cameras; the main reason being a limited budget & the value for money.

The 6D presents very good value for money.
