A great half length portrait; tack sharp, excellent detail in the feathers. The other one has indeed a unusual angle, but shows with accurateness the precision of the "landing laps".

I had somehow missed this post. Awesome feather detail in both shots. Nice composition on the portrait shot and the techs are well handled. The posterior angle on the first shot works for me in this case due to the head angle revealing the eye well, wing angle is awesome, and there's so much color and feather detail. You're killing it down there, Bird Lady.

In the first shot the head is out of focus, but that looks like a tough focusing situation of course. Second looks about perfect. I can see so much detail on the bird. I have yet to get a good shot of one of these. Usually they are too far away. How far was this one from you?

Thanks Nick. The flying shot I was shooting a 300mm on a crop frame body and there was no cropping. The second one is about the same distance maybe just a hair further.
