    Fallen

One of my favourite landscapes I shot last week while at the coast.
Fallen trees always fascinate me with all the texture they have.
    C&C welcome!

Very nice black and white, not too strong and yet it is attractive, to my eyes really. I am not an expert in anything yet because I am still trying to wet my feet on many things to photograph but I like this one, I can feel your passion in this genre and it shows in your shot...maybe that is how we should all take photographs -- because we like what we see and wanted the memories to last a little bit more by photographing them.

Hmmmm...I'm getting deep here , I am afraid I might drown...

Very nice conversion. This would be a good scene to visit often so you can really work it from many angles and perspectives in varying qualities of light.

The area on the right isn't helpful for me, so consider using a square crop to emphasize the left side of the image and to change the role of the tree in the scene.

    Thank you Barbara and David.

Thank you for the tip Mike. I would have loved to be able to go back there during a lovely clear sunset but unfortunately I only discovered the tree 2 days before we left and both of those were overcast in the evening. I might be back there in October though so I might see what I can do then.

Terrific image - beautifully shot and processed. And I like your idea for a project of these subjects.

Like Mike, I think there's a little too much space on the right, but I think squaring this might go too far. If you shot this again, I'd like to see how it worked if you stepped to the left and got the length of the trunk more aligned with the optical axis of the shot.

That is a nice image and I agree, I love the textures in it. I especially like the optical vanishing point you've created with what I assume is a wide angle lens. Nicely done.

    Re: Fallen

Thank you Mark and Dave, making notes of all you are suggesting and look forward to going back to shoot it again. Also in the hopes that the tree will still be there then

David it was indeed a wide angle lens, Sigma 10-20 shot at 10mm
