Re: The Woody's arrived !
They are a striking bird! I like your composition but I think the cloudy day subdued the true colors and vibrance of these creatures. I can't wait to see more photos from you when the lighting conditions are a little better. Keep at 'em!

Re: The Woody's arrived !
Just beautiful, Sherwood. I'm thinking bright overcast is very good for color recovery, and avoids the problems created by harsh shadowing in direct sun. There might be a little more color within the range of veracity with very slight brightening, clarity, vivid as per whichever software. Or not. Anyway these are great.

Re: The Woody's arrived !
Lovely birds Sherwood and great shots, my favourite is Nr.2 but it does look like it could use some extra saturation, the overcast day has somewhat washed it out a little.

Re: The Woody's arrived !
Lovely shots of beautiful birds. By increasing structure and contrast just a bit, the colors become slightly more vibrant but, not over the top!

All nice shots, Sherwood, although I think that #1's eye, although nice, lacks a bit of ooomph, a little bit dull if I may say so, unlike the rest of the eyes from the rest of the shot...

Re: The Woody's arrived !
Beautiful birds. You're lucky to have someplace close where they hang out. I miss seeing those guys. Back home the common term for them was "summer duck" because they were one of the only duck species that stayed year round. I like the shot with both drake and hen on a nice water surface. Others have commented on the techs already so nothing to add there. Look forward to more shots.
