Texas Purple Flower (smart-phone snap)
Prompted by the recent DSLR vs. smart phone discussion, I was browsing my Samsung Galaxy SII picture gallery and found this nice flower:
Middle bits (stamens?) are a bit OOF and a touch of moire in the big rain drop nearest the petal if you peep.
Found on my street in the Texas Hill country 65 mi WNW of Houston approx 96W, 30N.
Anybody know what it is?

It's an Iris. They're a bulb type root and typically grow in wet ground.

Nice capture, water droplets really add to the composition.

Thanks, all.
Dan, thanks for the info. At one time, I had all the names for the flowers that grow around the property but left them them and their images in a folder on the HD and failed to backup them up to my external SeaGate drive. You can guess what happened next, eh?
