    Exif Reader for Online Images?

Have I heard that there is some kind of way you can view the exif from online images? I would mainly like to be able to read data about the settings, and and camera/lens with which an image was created from photos found on line. Any recommendations for one you like would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. I know you can download most online images, and then check properties, but I don't want to download other peoples' photos if not permitted or necessary.

You could try to copy the image url and paste it into here.
If the person saves their image without metadata though you're out of luck.

Yes Nick the easiest way to do it is install an EXIF viewer as an extension of the internet browser you are using. I used to use the one Kathy mentioned (or was it Opanda, I can't remember !) in Internet Explorer but started having problems with it in that browser. I now use "PhotoME". You simply right click on the image and get the option to "Open in PhotoME".

A Google search will bring up a number of options for different viewers. Can't help with Mac or tablets I'm afraid.

    I use FxIF on Firefox.

Just remember a lot of hosting sites strip out the metadata, so even with the browser plugin, there is no guarantee that there is data to be read.

Also some software strips out metadata. As far as I know, the GIMP still does so. So all of my images on here probably have the metadata stripped out.
