Adventures of boys past C&C welcome

I went for a walk in the woods today and came across this little gem. It immediately brought images to my mind of young boys coming of age with their friends many, many years ago...

It might be too busy for some, but for me, it's about how the image tells a story and inspires the imagination :-)

I'm surprised to learn that you think this might be too busy for some. You used ideal framing of the subject. The high twigs in the foreground help convey that this house has been long ignored and forgotten. This scene is worth revisiting in different light and seasons and shown from various perspectives and angles.

Those were some lucky kids that could call that theirs.
Nice shot, and like Mike says, lets see some more of it.

Hi Kim, the composition doesn't look very crowded in this image for me as the bushes and branches around add to the ignored and forgotten look of the wooden house. The house is clearly visible among them and I also like the water drops on the bushes

I'm in the 'not too busy to me' camp Kim, very nice. This has to be a scene well worth exploring in different light.

Very nice Kim, definitely worth re-shooting when the sky is not so overcast.

It's all been said Kim, the FG creates the ambience that speaks of what used to be. I also agree with Mike that there is more potential in terms of exploring different lighting.

Thanks Mike. The framing was on purpose and my ISO was good ;-) I am hoping to get back in there; however, the farmer caught me coming out of the field and gave me the fifth degree... I have to pay him visit and show him what was captured. I also want to do a series on American Farmers this summer and he since he was quite the character, he might be a great subject.

Thank you Alan and John. John, I did play with it in B&W and that exaggerated the eerie feel...

Binnur, thanks for your comments about the composition. I also loved all the water drops. You recent B&Ws inspired me to play with this in B&W; however, I was satisfied with how it came out. So much to learn :-)

Thanks for commenting Grahame. If the farmer will let me back in (see my comments to Mike), that's the plan :-)

Thanks for commenting Matt. It was kind of foggy so I was hoping to get some of the fog in the images... but it wasn't quite foggy enough to appear in close shots. I love the fog, so was a bit disappointed. I did try adding some PP, but I didn't like it. Will try again when the sky is more attractive.
