Nice enough shot, Joe, but it really doesn't do that much for me.

The harsh shadows suggest that you shot this around mid-day and that light is not usually the best for landscape work (on account of the quality of the light). From a compositional balance standpoint, that rock outcrop just overwhelms the shot and keeps us from looking elsewhere. The powerlines in the background, again, it would be nice if they weren't in the shot...

On the other hand, it looks like you have lost the snow in Southern Ontario. I wish I could say the same for around here...

They were removed in 1933 and were replaced by the trucks and automobiles. What were they thinking?

Mixed emotions here but I like the view...it looks like a good place to just take a walk and be away from it all. Is this really a quiet place or what is it use for nowadays...

Strangely enough it was the rock outcrop which I found interesting! I was attracted to the texture and cragginess (is that even a word) of the rocks. I also like the juxtaposition of the rocks against the soft sky. That was what I was trying to capture. However I like your comment about the compositional balance. Do you think it would help the balance if I was to crop a little of the 'outcrop'?

Just because something catches your eye doesn't mean you won't have to work at it to get a good image...

I think you need both a crop and better lighting of the outcrop. I think if you took the same shot during "golden hour" and the rock face was lit with soft light (I am assuming that this will happen in either the morning or evening "golden hour") Being in shadow buries the detail in a fairly dark part of the image.
