Following my hosts down an enormous number of steps and rubber necking everything in the hope of capturing something I was struck by this cliff and snapped it. I quite like it and tried to put a little more light on the rocks with Photoshop. Darkening the surrounding foliage also (especially the foreground) seemed to help but could it be better?

The image has nice detail, and certainly pops. If you put more light on the projecting bit that's at about one-third from the bottom, centered, then my opinion would be that you've probably gone a little far in PP. In looking at it, I got a feeling that it was blown. If it wasn't blown in the original, then you may have done so in processing. To my taste, that would be a bit overcooked.
Very colorful, time of day makes a big difference when shooting in daylight and also shutter speed, lets less light hit the sensor. What settings were you using?
