A boy and his bulls C&C welcomed

Today, a friend asked me to come along with her to an event she was shooting. As one of my goals this Spring is to shoot more people, off I went. I also prefer shooting candids of people (versus posed) as I really enjoy the hunt looking for "the shot".

As you can tell, the lighting was harsh, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. While there, I came across this six year old boy who I just couldn't resist capturing! He just makes me smile! Hope he made you smile too - thanks for viewing!

    Kim,
The first shot made me smile, looks like the boy is whispering in the bull's ear. As for the harsh lighting, it is what was there.

You can't choose the time in an event...they are not there when the sun is still trying to rise and they are gone once the sun goes down (usually in an event like this one you went to. So live with it. Sun light in a photograph does not bother me as I do a lot of shooting airplanes in the heat of the day at times...as you did with this shoot. No need to apologize. It is the expression of the boy's face that is fascinating to look at here. Of course it made me smile...You have worked the light and shadows very well in the first shot. Simply nice...

Very nice Kim, I don't know who has the best expression, the boy or the bulls

Thanks for commenting Dean. I was glad I went... sometimes you just have to go with what's there... as you said.

Thanks so much for always viewing and commenting Izzie. I just love this kid's expression. He was a bit annoyed with the bulls as they were not listening and you can tell by his expression.

Thanks for commenting David - appreciate that you took the time to do so. I love them both... if I need a smile, I just look at one of these. I did get some other cute ones of another kid...

Thank you for always viewing and commenting John. Question -- does B&W sometimes "help" harsh lighting?

Hi Kim, the boy looks nice but the bulls are also beautiful with lovely eyes Sometimes day photos look better in B&W because of the harsh light, because B&W is about tones of grey and when you convert to B&W harsh light becomes a tone of grey too

Thank you for commenting Matt. He sure was...they had no intention of listening to the little boy.

Well they made me smile Kim, so they worked

Sometimes we get too obsessed about the techs.
