    Hockney Exhibition - Final

Last two from the Hockney exhibition. Both using the 8mm fisheye. The Jardinière is a standard fisheye comp just for fun. The second is a shot is for interest. It's of one of the exhibition halls which I have put through some relatively inexpensive software. The effect of the software is to straighten the verticals but leave the horizontal distortion untouched so that the nice curve in the floor at the base of the comp is still there but the vertical columns have been straightened out (I seem to remember that the ceiling was vaulted anyway). I have included the original (slightly cropped) version of the image for reference (flick between the two in Lightbox to see the effect). Beyond the novelty value, I am beginning to see some real potential in this lens + software for architecture and probably landscape. I'd be interested in what others think.

    Hi John,

I love the first image for the composition, light and gorgeous detail and unique curvy effect. In the 2nd and 3rd I'm not fond of the curve because it's not as obvious. But all beautifully photographed.

Thanks Matt, John Christina, Binnur and Izzie. I've just captured some more interior shots and I will be trying some landscape with this lens. If they are worth it, I will post them at some stage.

Very impressive what that software has done with the verticals John, good set.
