I really like this Terry, I can imagine myself standing on the bank on this side in awe of what is across the water on the other side.

Thank you, Kay.
We were in there for five days. We went to bed every night and woke up every morning to this kind of environment and this kind of scenery. All day, every day.
I know this kind of thing is not really everyone’s cup of tea, but I never feel more at home than I do when I’m in a place like this. What you described yourself doing is exactly what I did.
I am grateful that I have the chance to have this kind of experience from time to time.
Great shot and some great country.
Hi Antonio!
Hope everything is going your way!
The shot was taken in Utah, sir.
And thank you, Peter. I'm thinking I should have maybe lost the little piece of cloud in the upper left corner. I think I'll do that before the shot gets archived.
Last Friday at dinner, I was talking with some friends of ours about going to the US some day.
The idea was well accepted.
Travels to the US are all rather expensive and what make us hesitate is the time spent on buses or planes to go there.
But I hope, I hope some day, before I get 100 years old ...
Nice shot, Shauna.
Keep 'em coming. You have a good eye!
Hi Shauna,
I liked it too, although if mine, I think I would have either;
a) cropped off the foreground paving slab, or
b) cloned out the dark line, making one larger slab,
just so that dark line isn't going right across frame dividing the image in the foreground.
But that's just me and I'm often wrong.
Cheers,
It's not the worst either, by a long way. It might be worth trying vertical, perhaps with a sidestep or two to right (again, if possible), but I have a suspicion it would still be 'too tight' and there would be no sky visible either side of the building's reflection.
Me thinks; a 50mm, or even 35mm, would be the ideal choice for this shot.
Cheers,
You're both right. I left the 50mm in the bag back in the car and a vertical shot, no matter where I stood, looked chopped up. The 85mm is new to me in the past month, so I've been getting used to it. I really want it for low light action shots and portraits, but figured I'd see what else it could do Thanks for your comments!

What a wonderful angle to catch the reflections, Antonia. You must travel for many weeks/months each year to obtain such diverse shots.

Wrong Myra
We generally travel once a year - sometimes twice - into another Continent. Often to Asia. We like Asia.
We have been to about 45 countries, European ones included ... Life is short and the Word is very large.
This year again and soon. I will not tell you where. At least not yet.
