Very nice. I particularly like the delicate footsteps in #1. The stilt looks very soulful!

All three are very nicely done, Barbara..I particularly like the second one because of the warmth you have got of him/her there...

Beautiful series, Barbara! Are the pelicans jealous about your new subjects?

    Re: Shore Birds

Nice shots, #2 is the best for me because of the light and the more isolated background.

Since you asked for C&C, I'll give my opinion...

The vignette is a little too strong on these for my taste (for me personally, if I can tell an image has a vignette applied, it's too strong, but that's just me)

Other suggestion is, if possible try to get a lower angle. If you are physically able and not afraid to get dirty, I'd recommend laying the ground (even in the mud or water) and your shots will sky rocket above and beyond.

Finally, at full size view, something a little weird is going on with the detail in the second two shots - It looks like the focus was slightly off, and/or they were over processed a little (possibly too much noise reduction). I wouldn't know for sure unless I saw the OOC shots.

Be extra careful on the sharpening, as it is easy to introduce halos, edges, and artifacts if overdone.

Really nice shots and I enjoyed them! Hope you don't mind my critical eye.

I note that all are long legged. Is that so for most shore birds in yor area? Great set.

Thanks Irene, yes, all shore birds have long legs to the best of my knowledge.
