Sorry about the wood in front but she/he would have nailed me if I tried to move it.

Beautiful image of the Canada Goose! I think it is one of the loveliest nesting shots I've ever seen. She looks regal and has that maternal glow!

The only thing I wonder about is if it is possible to darken/clone the bright bits in the upper right hand corner.

    Thanks both.

Would love someone with better PP skills than me to give this one a go.

Good shot, Jim...as Christina said, it has that regal look...+1 to her comments. I do not like the wood and reflection at the top third of the shot ...

    Re: Sitting and Waiting

    Hi Ziggy,

I gave it a try because no one else has. The fact of the matter is that my cloning skills are not great, and that images with water ripples in them are especially challenging, impossible to do well.

FYI This edit of mine is not good enough because you can tell it has been done. But perhaps it gives you something to try, and perhaps you'll be more skilled at it than I am.

    Sitting and Waiting

I opened the image in Photoshop (Elements would also work).

Next I duplicated the layer and moved the layer over to the right hand side so that the water on the left hand side was over top of the bright spot on the right hand corner. Next I used a brush to erase everything but the bright spot covered with the new layer. This left water with a different exposure. So I tried the cloning tool at an opacity of 50% and tried to clone similar ripples over that spot, and a blur brush to soften obvious patterns.

I could of simply used the cloning tool in Lightroom or Photoshop to clone the ripples but didn't because I can't do this well. ie; the duplicate layer method is easier for me than cloning but still hard to do.

Nice picture Ziggy. The top right is indeed distracting.

Barbara. If I did not know, I would not have noticed that it has been edited.

    Re: Sitting and Waiting

You know...I uploaded the image too and tried to do a content aware on the sticks with reflections and it wouldn't do it for me. I did the same method as you did, copy an exact layer then did it and it won't budge so I did not do anymore...I just kept quiet... I do not think it is your or my skill, it is his image...gotta blame something...(not really...but if it was only me, I'd blame me, but two of us??? Go figure...I hope someone else will try ... so I can easily say it is no coincidence.)
