Great shots David, good DoF and razor sharp where they need to be. You've made me want to chuck my macro lens on and go chase wasps in the garden

Nice series. I always think that Robber Flies have that 'lean and mean' look!

I fully agree with Matt! I am officially a fan of your photography as well!

Excellent shots, as expected. I'm liking #3 the best, there's nothing about that shot that doesn't say, "Careful!"
#1 is nothing like the carpenter bees around here, they much more resemble a bumblebee on steroids (plus they have little tool belts).
I looked multiple times...nope, not a bug to be seen

OK...now I am wanting my macro lens to come...it is still a long way away...must still be in Timbuktu....

Anyway, as usual all good sharp shots but my favourites are #3 and 4. #3 because this wasps looks like he has a batman mask. Have you made a mistake in the ID here? This should be called The Robber Fly instead simply because robbers (thieves) wears masks in their sort of "job". #4 because I like that sharp antennae. Wonder if it pokes its victim with that first...looks vicious...

Excellent photography as usual coming from you...

Great shots David I'm luckier than the other members because you live in Turkey and if I want to start shooting macro one day , it will be easier for me to take some practical lessons from you

    Hi David,

Another great series, my preferences are for #1 and #4.

The Robber fly reminds me of those narrow body attack helicopters.

Love 4 particularly, tack sharp where it counts and the artistic blur in other parts. Well done.
