Highly recommended. I got PE 8 free a while back and wound up getting the entire suite when #9 came out. It is a wonderful piece of software. While the Perfect Effects plug-in gets the majority of my use, I also am using the Black and White plug-in more and more. So, great for free. Just beware all the promotional tie-ins to upgrade or you will wind up like me.
Already have it, but I paid for mine...
I just downloaded it. Thanks for the link.

Probably not before 6 months or more.
I also paid for mine (v8.0 then upgrade to v9.0, the 9.5 upgrade is free) but do not regret, the price is quite honest and I really love this software while using it as a standalone. I can upload my RAW files and work them directly. If you register they also give you free filters nearly every month.
No. 9.5 was a significant upgrade, and only just released. However, do note that this is just the Effects module, and not the whole suite. I do think it's the most useful, though, especially if used as a plug-in.I have no knowledge of this product, but does that mean that V10 is about to be released...?

what does this software do that the combination of Lightroom, photoshop, and Nik doesn't? I am intrigued, but on the other hand, I am finding that when I get new software, unless I will use it often, I eventually don't use it enough to be competent with it.
I don't think PSP 9.5 do more than the 3 you quote, but look at price (once, not every month) and compare to the price of the three you cite, and if you only use it you will finally feel more and more competent.
That's only my personnal opinion, others can think differently...
I would put it somewhere between Photoshop and Elements in capability. I like it because I do most of what I need in Lightroom, and I just don't use Photoshop enough to get to grips with it. I find PPS easier to use and remember. In its latest incarnation, it can produce .psd files with "smart layers" for re-editability.
