You may not have seen it, Kris, but it looks like it was ready to take you on
That's a Thomisidae or flower spider. Interesting little critters. They don't spin a web but make an anchor line. They use the long legs to jump on to prey, envenomate it and hang on for the ride. Once the prey stops they feed and then find another flower. If they miss, the anchor line gets them back for the next chance.
daffodils are okay but you missed the focus on the spider by a mile.
Nice catch.
You are so funny, Kris! A small photobomb is not that bad...it provides another entertainment to your shot.
P.S. Thanks for the morning laugh...I totally enjoyed this conversation...better you than me. I will take this conversation back to bed with me so I can dream of your flight.
The spider is quite sharp at 100% but I think you missed the shot by including the petal of the adjacent flower ?
Love the Crab Spider Kris, not keen on the Daff though all this time pretending you do not like Spiders
While you were photographing that one spider....there were others, watching you and possibly even climbing up on you....
Very nice capture.
This is a nice shot Kris I would crop the image from right and from bottom and go for a square frame. I can see that your intention was to shoot the whole flower but because you have this little critter now, IMO you need a better composition with a crop
Considering the critter in this picture, this is one for the archive.
I will still look into the possibility of a square crop with the ones I took the next day - carefully checking for life forms that aren't supposed to be there, and took a few more shots of the daffodils, but I still need to transfer those on my computer. Thanks for the advice, Binnur!
