Lovely images. The U.S. Navy has (or once had) a base in Townsville. I tried to get stationed there my entire career...

Great series. Like the sunset over Magnetic Island but the last one is my favourite.

All good shots even if I am not a fan of smooth milky water shots...my favourite is the last one. Nice composition.

Three nice captures. Good composition and exposure. Wouldn't want to pick a favourite.

Great series May be a bit more sharpening for #3.

Thanks Richard. Yes it is a nice place. There is no US presence anymore. It has one of the biggest Australian army bases now though. Also an Air force base. There was recent talk of some US personnel being based out of here, but it has gone quiet again

That's was a point of indecision Binnur
I left it fairly soft & muted, so didn't sharpen it up much intentionally.
I did a higher contrast version that was sharper, but wasn't convinced it worked better.

That's OK Izzie. I don't always like milky water either.
But when I do play with it, I normally try & get that optimum shutter where there is still some shape to the water - not too misty, but not too frozen. Kind of half frozen I guess.
