    The wingspan is nicely captured, the head a bit out of focus; but who looks at butterfly faces anyway.

    At full sized view it looks as though it is just the antennae which are a fraction out of focus. That is quite normal for real life photography and looks fine to me.

    Thanks, Geoff; that was my feeling as well. There is only a thin slice of true focus at such close range, even with the lens fully stopped down (f/8 for this camera, which, with the "1-inch" sensor, is about f/22 in 35mm terms).

    nice. I was going to say that the flower is an echinacea, but then I googled and found that coneflower is a name for echniceas.

    Hard for me to tell about the focus on the eye at this low magnification.

    Very nice shot Tom, the pink part distracts a bit but you can change the color of it with PP anyway
