Very well done Johann!
Hi Johann Is this the mouth? Did you manage to shoot 150 exposures because the fly is dead or how did you manage to shoot them?
Wow!
I take it that this is the two eyes and the 'forehead' in between. I would also guess that it was also fairly freshly dead. I am currently playing with focus stacking. What software did you use?
John
Hello John. I have also sent you this by pm, as the question you ask is specific. I forfeited dof here for closeup. It is in fact a 7:1, on reviewing my original material. I shot the stack with a stackshot. The optics were an old 100mm chinon as a tube, on which I mounted a nikon 20x objective. DOF was unknown micron (I suppose one could calculate that). I should have done 50-100 exposures more, which would have offered a little more inclusion bilaterally, but softening toward the outer perimeter of the eyes necessitated the crop as it is. They were shot as hi res jpg, and then stacked with Zerene.
