    Nik software full version.

Hi guys. I haven't been on in a while because I have been really busy with work. in my time off I have been taking lots of photos though and I even got the chance to be official photographer for the conservative party in Northern Ireland (I hold no allegiance...it was just a job )

So I had tried out the Nik sortware package which I loved...after a while. Thanks Binnur for telling me about it. My question is if I buy the full version now on my not so great pc can I transfer it to a new pc later when I get the chance to buy one?

    Thanks
    chris

Yes! Even if you did to pics for that lot. I hope they paid well.

I am not certain what the policy is now. When I last had to do this, quite a while ago, they emailed a link to the installation program to the e-mail address they had on record from when I first purchased it.

I did with no problems, but as Dan said, they do like to know the purchase email address you used. I have found the support folks very helpful.

Not sure that's something you want to tell too many people ... especially if you come to Scotland!!

Seriously, good on you. Always good to get your name known.

NIK (as well as OnOne, the Perfect Photo Suite folks) have excellent customer service with strangely customer service representatives who speak English. That's something that Adobe should take notice of.

And they are both very prompt with replying to your dilemma too.

My favorite story regarding Adobe Customer Service is one time that I opted for the Adobe Service to phone me back, instead of waiting for a representative to come on the line.

My phone rang, I picked it up and was immediately disconnected. I hung up and the phone rang again about three minutes later. I picked it up and was immediately disconnected. This kept on happening for close to an hour while I searched to find an open Adobe phone (It was early Friday evening in California).

I finally found a sales office in San Francisco where someone answered the phone and the sales rep who answered stated that she would email India and try to solve the problem. Apparently it worked because the phone stopped ringing about fifteen minutes later.

Most call centres are the same, whether they are based on the sub continent or not.

Basically appallingly paid workers, kept down from thinking, by ensuring they can only work to a 'procedure manual', with no deviation or the threat of the dismissal. Whilst some employees need more assistance and management than others, there is a huge problem with outsourcing to other companies or locations where the employees are 'remote' from the front line and don't see the bigger picture.

I know of a former director of one such organisation who was adamant that employees should not know an ounce more than they needed to know and were not allowed to use discretion or common sense. A different attitude would have lead to less job dissatisfaction, lower staff turnover, (which was horrendous), less absenteeism, less sickness, and greater customer satisfaction.

Said person also didn't want to employ anyone more intelligent than themselves for fear of embarrassing themselves.

So it was lowest common denominator all round.

Hence masses of dissatisfied customers costing the company thousands of £££££ directly off the bottom line all for the sake of a little "empire building".

The said person was ultimately 'encouraged out of the company' but in the meantime the company plummeted from its previous premier position, which it failed to regain.

Obviously not an isolated incident with such organisations that operate in this way.

Not saying Google, Adobe etc are the same, but outsourcing and poor management will ultimately see competitors rise and overtake a one time market leader unless action is taken before it gets too late.

....and back on topic, I have used Nik software since before it came under Google and have always found them helpful and accommodating even to the stage of ensuring that I could reinstall on a new machine, so perhaps I spoke to the right people.

Sorry for being so late Chris . As everybody already mentioned above, Nik's Support Team is very helpful for any matter and I don't think you will have any problem when you buy a better PC in the future.
