The smallest one is in charge

An hour spent taking some family photos, can result in all sorts of unexpected lessons...
lesson 1 - beware when using a bubble blower, the kiddies ran into each other at full speed.
lesson 2 - don't think a nice exposure time for ambient light to balance the flash will work..sometimes, they turn around & run at you at full speed.
lesson 3 - it might bring more bloopers than keepers, but a session with toddlers will bring joy to your soul.

I had not met these 2 before, on arrival the eldest came running up to me & asked are you the photographer?
I replied are you the little girl?
Yes! she replied.. we were firm friends from then on.

These may be considered bloopers, but they appeal to me, so Im sharing them with you all.
A lovely overcast day, grey sky, I had my daughter as lighting assistant, holding a speed light with gary fong dome.

Great, fun collection. The one that "turned out as it was meant to" is indeed a wonderful image. I bet you'll notice when these two have gone home!

You can certainly see who the cheeky one is. Nice set for the family album.

Very fun! I can attest: kids at those ages are incredibly unpredictable, but when a shot captures their unique little personality, that's what makes it special. Well done!

I think they're all lovely and perhaps all as they are meant to be.

I love impromptu shots like these...never a dull moment with kids around. Are these clients or relations?

All beautiful shots, Kay...The youngest one is the warrior between the two. She is so funny...I also like the interaction of #2 shot...They are both cute but that little has has more spunk...

Kay I'm not sure why you'd think of any of these as "bloopers" because they are all very good, capturing great spontaneous moments. I'm sure the parents would be very pleased with them

    Thanks Mark,
The last shot was the best of the session I think.

Thanks Kristy, the Mum said she didn't mind if they weren't all smiling at the camera, as that might look forced, I hope they are happy.

Thanks Kaye, I had some pre shoot ideas, but they went it the window pretty quickly.

Thankyou Izzie, they are clients, I know the Mum from 'huff n puff' or running classes, from before she had #2.
She called & asked if I would do this.

The one with the elder wee girl a bit blurred, was my main worry.
But as you say, if they make an album, these will find a place there.
It was so funny, she just turned & ran into my arms, camera no impediment!
The last one can go on the wall.
