    Clay idol

This Goddess idol is of Dasha Maa. Dasha means condition. This idols are made out of clay. The artists come during these festival days all the way from the eastern region of India to Western region, travelling for 2500 to 3000 kms every year, specially to make these idols.

People worshiped this goddess for 10 days, with an expectation that Goddess will change that existing bad condition and something good will happen in the life.

I have tried to capture one of those idols, along with some half prepared idols of Ganesha.

Your C & C will be highly appreciated.

Nicely captured, nice separation of idols, color/monotone helps convey ancient and current configurations.

Hi Tejal I would crop the image from left to eliminate the cropped parts of the idol ( or whatever it is) and IMO it would be nicer to include the leg of the idol on the RHS while framing the shot. Interesting image.

But if you do crop the left side very slightly it will mean an odd image size or take a balancing amount from where?

Possibly lose it from the bottom? You don't really want to lose very much from the top.

    Re: Clay idol

I don't often worry about odd size images, like an old friend used to say, "I crops 'em like I sees 'em".

I love the way that the colored figure stands out from the monochrome background. I rotated the image one-degree counterclockwise to straighten out the blue stand. I then cropped at top, bottom, left and right. I also selected the rock at bottom right of the image and reduced the brightness, resulting in this image...

    Clay idol

I just wonder if some additional cropping to eliminate the front of the figure's stand might also be in order. That would eliminate the rock and eliminate the need to reduce the brightness...
