    Henning about

    Feeling a bit 'bird brained' I went to a local fair and took some shots of some hens (with camera, not gun) I hope this is the right forum (well it's to do with nature isn't it?). Why do hens always insist on preening themselves when I whip my camera out?

    One cockerel crowed in my face (you could see the tonsils in his breath), another fell asleep.

    I like the first of the giant ginger hen, and Foghorn. Your main problem, which is difficult to avoid is the distracting background. The first quail PIC is a nice portrait with an even more distracting background.

    Nice series. They also seem to know when the camera is pointed at them and they turn away from shyness.

    Hi thanks for your replies, shooting through bars is very hard, going to try Newquay zoo next.
