Brewer's Sparrow, I think please help with ID, a new bird for me

While photographing the Bluebirds last week a couple of birds that I had not seen before showed up, this is the first one. It took a while to ID, but I am pretty sure this is a Brewer's Sparrow. If not, please help me ID it.

A sparrow to me all looks the same so I cannot help you with the ID, sorry...but I like all these shots. No favourites...

Great shots. But I will have to concede to Dave's superior knowledge of North American tweety-birds.

Bill- I have to agree on the ID. At first I was confused, I thought that you were in D.C.---in which case this would have been most noteworthy due to the lack of sagebrush

    Thanks, all.

Izzie, in general I agree, it is even worse sometimes with hawks. I should just give up and call them "birds" and be done with it!

Dave, I don't get it, you are in the UK, wearing a Cowboy Hat and knowing about this bird that lives here in the Pacific Northwest. I'm confused ........

Randy, if it was D.C. it would have to be imported sagebrush, or maybe an exhibit at the Smithsonian.

Yup! "Birds" will do but I will hound you and hound you until you tell me what sort of bird it is...

    Hi Bill,

Good series of a tricky subject (due to their size and speed).

If I have one observation, it would be that if mine, I would have pulled back a tad on the sharpening; the feather detail (when viewed at 100%) is just a bit too crunchy and it hasn't done the noise any favours in the last 3 shots (where the ISO was 1100-1250).

You have achieved excellent focus, exposure and compositions, including very nice backgrounds in all.

Did you shoot handheld, or use a monopod, or even tripod and special head? - I ask because I noted the Nikon D810 and "950mm" focal length in EXIF, which must weigh a fair bit.

    A job well done, Dave
