Spiral Staircase

Thinking of entering this in a local photo competition, on second thought I will be entering it. I like it, it just has something that appeals to me. Hope you enjoy the image also.

Hello Allan,

I really like this shot also. Something about staircases is always intriguing. For me, adding the vertical and horizontal lines of the window panes in the background against the spiral pattern of the staircase adds interest. I also like the elongation of the shot. Did you crop this? I think it suggests the continuation of the staircase. Well Done.

I like it the way it is...something intriguing about the staircase and the moody cloud makes it more mysterious as to a begging question as to what is above there somewhere at the top? But then this is just me...I like Alfred Hitchcock type of stories...

Great shot and perfectly suits the portrait aspect.

It seems to be leaning ever so slightly to the left to me and has a little perspective distortion due to the upward angle it must have been shot at. The "tilt" angle on the right is more pronounced than that on the left.
Adjusting both of these out can be easily acheived in Photoshop or Elements and I think I'd do that before entering it.

I agree with all the above comments although I do think the sky is quite good as it is and hope you do well with it in the competition.
