    Ragworm down the Microscope

With the current interest in Macro work, I thought I'd post a picture I took many years ago down a stereo microscope.

    Ragworm down the Microscope

It is of the head of a juvenile Common Ragworm (Nereis diversicola). It was, of course taken with film, and scanned from a slide. The colour cast is from the peculiar lighting available.

It shows nicely the antennae with which it finds its food, and the two large jaws with which it grabs it.

The image gives the impression of a critter swimming in the sea, I like it

Interesting...can you take images with your DSLR and your microscope ? It makes macro photography child's play..

You can take images with a DSLR and a microscope. All you need is a sufficiently fancy microscope and an adaptor ring. In the days I was doing it, I was able to use the microscopes where I worked. Today, such a microscope is beyond my means.
