Yellow-headed Sparrow
This is not a new species, but what happens to many of the birds on the Isles of Scilly, especially on Tresco. Several of the exotic plants in the famous subtropical gardens yield much nectar which the birds cannot resist. As they probe for nectar, their faces get powdered with yellow pollen. This one is relatively modest compared with some.

Comment welcome (and yes, I know it would look nicer had she been turned more towards me).

Re: Yellow-headed Sparrow
Very nice John.
Nice detail in the bird and a nice blur in the background.

Re: Yellow-headed Sparrow
I have a lot of baby sparrows going to my deck but I have never thought them beautiful. I think I will change my mind and take some of them shots. This one you have here inspires me. Thanks. Awww..ditch the naysayers about the posing...I like this one...
