It's a what? An en... lar... ging lens...

A short series using an enlarging lens on my DSLR...Nippon Kogaku EL-Nikkor f2.8/50mm.

Focuses tae @ 3metres without aids.

East meets...farther East...Just so ah could say "Aye, ye can use Nikon lenses on FSU cameras"...

It's a what? An en... lar... ging lens...

Ah really like the softness captured using this lens (some folk'll pay $5 grand for this) and the lush colours...

Some are just the lens attached tae the camera and using the tried and tested R+R focusing (rock forward, roll back) since it's a fixed lens (no focus ring).

It's a what? An en... lar... ging lens...

Ah used extension tubes on a couple...

    Really nice, smooth defocused areas

Should take this photography lark more seriously. Mebbe even get a cheap tripod..

All hand-held, so camera shake evident in some(if not all )

Such a good setup and results you need to get a digital back for the Zenit....

Some very nice shots. What DSLR did you have it on and what adapter?

    Hi LP,

Used my Sony a700. A simple M42-Sony A mount adapter+ZM39-M42 step up ring. Ah also used both ZM39 and M42 extension tubes. The adapter below, Fotodiox - no electronic chips etc, bit more expensive than the Chinese equivalent but worth it, very well made.

Thanks Boab. I dumped my enlarger last year but I think I kept the lenses - you have inspired me to go and find them.

Have a look here, LP. This guy has engineered adapters, tubes and helicoids for NEX/Four-Thirds cameras, some excellent stuff...( the VNEX and VmFT stickies at the top of the page)
