That depends on the story the photographer is telling. Both are effective stories in my mind.
However, if I was telling the story of the person through the doorway, I would crop on the right to exclude the door hinges and everything to the right of them. Doing so allows the viewer to look through the blue panels that very nicely complement the subject's blue shirt without being distracted by unnecessary information too far beyond the door frame.
