    I'm not familiar with the statue but, the foreground flowers are distracting.

    Looks like the type you'd find in a cemetery, although it looks like a nude statue.. Does evoke sadness.

    Hi Jim I would crop the image from above the hands of the statue as the hands draw my attention a lot.I would also remove the green color cast on the statue. The face of the statue really looks sad.

    Hi, Jim

    I also like the leaves included- it rather gives the feeling of the viewer peering from a secluded spot into a moment of private angst. I think the color may not contribute to your overall achievement of pathos, however, and wonder if you've made a B&W
    version?

    Thanks all and I really appreciate the feedback on this image.

    I knew when I posted it would most likely bring different opinions. I think that is what makes this sport so fun and keeps me carrying a camera.

    Kevin we think alike. When I framed the shot that is what I was thinking.

    Did give it a go in B&W, maybe will try again.
