    Mini Competition #94

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forums

    Common Grackle

    Mini Competition #94

Common Grackles are blackbirds that look like they've been slightly stretched. They're taller and longer tailed than a typical blackbird, with a longer, more tapered bill and glossy-iridescent bodies. Grackles walk around lawns and fields on their long legs or gather in noisy groups high in trees, typically evergreens. They eat many crops (notably corn) and nearly anything else as well, including garbage. In flight their long tails trail behind them, sometimes folded down the middle into a shallow V shape.

I think that Tokina 11-16 is super-glued to your camera! It is a nice lens though, isn't it? I'm using mine a lot more recently. It has a really nice feel to it, doesn't it? Good shot.

Thanks. I'm constantly blown away by just how sharp it is. Really, really impressed.

It's certainly spending a lot of time on there just now as the 17-85 kit is out of commission (see previous post about focus ring jamming at 17mm). On the basis that purchasing the 24-70 Canon L would have resulted in violence (towards me) and the fact that the repair by A J Johnstone of Glasgow is going to cost £90 (which is about £900 less than the cost of the 'L'), the kit lens is there at the moment. Should get it back next week.

    Hi Remco,

When I first looked at it I thought it was Ninjas in black practicing fighting moves ... must be my over-active imagination!

There are actually 11 in here. #95 is here.

    Mikimoto

See the first post at the top for info. A poll will appear at the very top of the thread once one of the Admins/Mods gets a chance to put it there. Keep checking back.

    Hi Mikimoto,

I've added the voting poll now for you - sorry - as Donald mentioned, it's not an automated process (unfortunately) - so it only happens when Dave or I happen to spot that one needs doing. Good luck
