    Night Photography

Well, there was no moon, and I figured it would be perfect to capture the Milky Way but as luck would have it weather did not cooperate. The clouds combined with light polution prevented a decent Milky Way image. I did manage to save the night with this one image...... Some how I felt that this image was perfect for a black and white conversion. C&C always welcome

That's a cracking image and I agree with you on the mono finish. The tonal balance is spot on. Much PP?

It was all done in ACR, very simple.

If you can...were you to take the color image and make the clouds into aurora borealis.
That would really make for a killer image.

Kelvin - this is a really well done piece. I like the way it comes together and suspect that going B&W was likely a good decision.

First of all, I like the way that you have used a very symmetrical approach; the railings and pathway take the viewer's eyes directly into the centre part of the image. Once the viewer's eyes have been lead there, the lighter shades or the building keep the eyes there. The shape of the building directs the viewers eyes to the wisps of cloud and then onto the starts.

It's quite the adventure, just walking through the image. As I said before; it is really well done!

Thank you so much, that was exactly my intention. A journey within an image. I was so moved in the moment that I could have probably done more but this setting just kept me amored........
