    Dog Sports

    Hi all,
Thought I might share a few pics from the weekend. This is the first time I've picked up my camera since January. I've been out of action recovering from some surgery. Still not back to my landscapes, and being able to carry my gear into my usual locations, but I did manage a few dog action photos at the RSPCA Million Paws Walk. My club were doing an agility/frisbee/flyball demo, and while I couldn't run my own dogs, I could sit with my camera.

Trace, I'd like to be able to say that this or that photo should have been...this or that. But in reality these are all great action shots of amazing dogs. Given that you likely had limited locations to shoot and lighting was what it was I think you've done a great job, in capturing the event as well as the individual dogs.

If I had to pick a favorite, it would be #3, or maybe #4, or #1, or....

Thanks Jack. Appreciate your comments, and yes, of course, I wish I didn't have the red and yellow bunting defining the ring in the background; but those are the realities of this style of event.

    Thanks James!

I like dogs very much Trace...I am glad you chose the Million Paws Walk...I had always enjoyed attending that event in Melbourne. I like expression of #1, the colour of #2...the antic of #3, the sharpness of #4 in the jump and I've never had seen (in pictures that is..) an agility shot as good as this before...Good job despite not still 100% better. You'll be soon.

They are....it is the owners who are stressed out...One day when I go to a dog show competition, it will be nice to shoot owner's biting nail reaction...that will be fun...

Hi Trace, sorry to hear of your indisposition. It must have been dreadfully frustrating not to be out and about with the camera.

This is a very good set of action shots, well captured. You must have a good camera

    Speedy recovery, Dave.

Thanks all, and yes, the dogs do have a wonderful time. And while being out with the camera capturing them was awesome, especially with so long away, I am very much looking forward to also being back out running with my dogs in agility. A couple more months for that though I'm guessing. It has been frustrating not being able to play with them, or my camera for the past few months. But all good now, and soon I'll be back out doing landscapes too. Have to see if I remember how
