    Sweetness

While walking through a street, I found a group of small children. Small children always attract me. I enjoy their sweet and innocent smile. I have tried to capture one such beautiful moment in my camera .

    C & C are welcome.

That is a great shot, the poses, the conversion, and the exposure.

Very nice shot Tejal I would clone the thing ( a head?) between the two heads on the left. Did you darken the doorway deliberately? How does it look with less darkening?

Thanks Binnur !! Actually there was a small spot of light, which I have clone between two heads. Other than that in extream left side, there was a white cloth, which I have cloned. Rest as it is I have kept.

    Hi Tejal,

I would love to critique - but I really can't.

I love seeing your images of Indian life, and the choice of b&w works so well.

    Please keep them coming!

    Dave

P.s. Edit: I just might have cropped a little off the right

Children's faces are always beautiful and they are always willing to pose for you especially in places like yours. And this one is no exception. I have nothing to critique or help you with this shot because I find it perfect already with all the cloning you said you did. Thank you for sharing.

    Re: Sweetness

I like this picture very much, Tejal. I don't know what it looks like in colour, but the B&W version works really well.

It reminds me of our month in India late last year when my wife and I were often approached by children asking to have their picture taken, something we certainly would not experience at home.

The only thing I might suggest you re-explore next time might be the focal length you are shooting at (assuming that you have the space to move back to do so), you are shooting at a moderately wide angle and this does result in some distortion, A more moderate focal length (closer to 30mm) might be worth exploring to see how that works. You would definitely get a different look to the image and I suspect it might look a bit better.

Thanks Manfred for your valuable input. Those children were playing and they noticed me carrying a camera so, with curiosity they looked at me and by taking their snap i just tried to give a sweet smile on their face.

About the environment, on right side there was some space, but it was quite cluttered. Things one bucket was there, one cloth was hanging which I have cloned and some more things. Even inside the house also there was a CFL and some other articles, which I tried to avoid coming into my frame. Street was narrow and some vehicles were parked.

But I think 30 mm would have worked..... and it would have surely made a better shot. Hmmmmm.......POINT HAS BEEN NOTED..... ....will keep it in my mind for next time to get a better shot .

And here is the SOOC shot :

Thanks Tejal - I personally prefer the colour version, but expect that you will have to do the same cleanup that you have in the B&W version. The general tones in the image are similar enough that different colours do not overwhelm.
