She is the night. Perfection is not possible but your shot comes very close.
Loved it !
Excellent shot. Love the tones.
Nice, I like the bit of illumination suggesting where she might be going and the bit of illumination of the flowers in the foreground.
Belter Daisy,keep them coming.
Stunning!
The brief light on her hair transforms this shot and whilst I have tried reconfiguring other elements in my mind, I think the execution is perfect. Even down to the tulips in the bottom left, the texture of the cobbles and the doorway to which she is heading.
One more step forward and she would have been lost in the shadow, on step earlier and she would have been too much in the light. So as in life, timing is everything. I think also that the tone you chose works exceptionally well and really creates the mood (more so I think than had you done it B&W). There is some really good asymmetrical symmetry, the light perfectly balanced with the dark, the woman mostly dark but in the light, the doorway mostly lit but in the dark...were you to decide to hang up your camera, this would be the image to do so on. I'm sure you can make more great images but I think this one has set your bar pretty high. Strong work.
I say as good as it possibly can be. The highlights and the shadows work extremely well.
That is ART!
What is art? Something you want to look at! :Quote from one of the bonsai masters we know.

Sure Byron would have liked your your shot as well
Another great image Sharon. I really like this one (and your others as well). The highlights on her hair really put the icing on the cake in this one.
Sharon, thought provoking and emotive as always with your images. Brian's lyrical response encompasses all for me.
I am always amazed at your ability to not just see the image, but to capture the moment with such precision. I really want to see what is in those shadows that she is making for so purposefully.
Truly an image that is 'all that's best of dark and bright'
Sorry could not resist.... James
Wow, you folks blow me away. Thank you ALL so much for your lovely comments.
Ian, what a considered and well thought out response. James, Chris and Mark...you are all in eloquent and intellectual mode today...thank you.
Jack....am blushing here. Really appreciate your words. No chance of me hanging up the camera, I promise.
Gerry,John Bernard, Rita, Kris....what can I say. Your support is really precious.....and I am going to stop now because this is staring to sound like a really bad Oscars speech
I'm liking your stuff...tis a lot more than photography.
Sharon, very beautiful capture.

Very nice Sharon,
I really like the balance in composition between the girl's hair and the foreground blooms.
... not to mention your excellent processing.
Thanks, Dave
Ah really like the tones. Yev caught the model and her hair beautifully.
Think the door is superfluous. She's walking in beauty like the night, she doesn't have tae be walking to something.
The flower border is a distraction, taking the eye away from the only subject necessary - the girl. Ah think the more stark this photo is, the better it would be. Ah'd remove the door and the flowers, leaving only light and dark shades and the radiance of the girl and her hair, caught in the light, against the blackness.
