    Hi Jim IMO this is an image for a B&W conversion. The image looks very nice but the color of the BG dominates the image and it has nothing to do with the subject at all. So, converting to B&W might give a better look

    Yes, I agree; although simply toning down the highlights in the background might be worth a go. I would probably do an adjustment layer and try using something like Luminosity blend mode. Adjustment Brushes might work if you can't do layers and masks.

    Possibly then run over the background with a light Blur Brush.

    Certainly an interesting scene with that distinctive gnomon.
