    Talking of squirels

I was in a Leadville camp at 10,000ft altitude, having flown from sea level over the past three days, with my son's back-up team looking after both him and me as he ran the 100 mile race.
Relaxing in a deck chair when this cheeky fellow ran between my legs and disappeared from view.
Eventually I got up and discovered a pack of sliced bread had been attacked. So I separated the untouched slices and put them in a safe place before organizing a chair in a position that I could monitor events following...

    Talking of squirels

Later it took a slice to its home and with rather a heavy crop ....

    Talking of squirels

    Enjoy I hope

Your images made me smile John, they are so lovely IMO you need to be a bit more careful when selecting the blurred area in #1, the edges of it don't look very neat.Apart from that the image looks great and cute. I would crop #2 from the top and from the RHS because the dark parts distract. So a tighter crop might work better.

A fun presentation. I like the first best because the light is rather harsh in the second. I agree with Binnur about your edges. I'm not sure artificial blurring of the background was necessary to that extent but if you are going to do it, consider also the triangular area between the rock and the squirrel. Looks like your shutter speed may have been a bit low which may have caused the slight blurring of the head. It's an entertaining shot!

This is a Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel, by the way. They are plentiful at my house in Colorado and fun to watch and photograph.
