The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

I was passing by my kitchenette when I saw this activity outside my deck...I was a meter away from this happening and took these pictures from inside my dirty deck door. I have to ask Roxie to clean her messy nose off my glass....

1 I called my husband to look at my find for this week without going out of the house. He quickly said "Where is my gun? Where is my gun?" I shoo-ed him off and got my camera...wrong lens but does it matter now...? Everytime I see a chipmunk it will be in the cage already ready to be transported over the pond at St. Charles' river...this is a good opportunity...

The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

2 I wonder how far is it down there????

The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

3 That lady with the camera saw me, I better go this way....

The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

    4 This way???

The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

    5 Or that way...?????

The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

    6 I don't know...will it be better that way where I came from ???

The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

7 I think I know now where I am going....

The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

    8 ....farewell...so long....auf wiedersehen....goodbye...

The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

After hubby left, he said he is going to make a phone call. I said "Call the relatives of the chipmunk!"

Fact: we are not allowed to shoot a gun here including the basement or around our property unless otherwise it is an emergency, e.g., in case of a house invasion or for protecting oneself from crime someone is about to commit IN our property.

PS...I showed Bill these images before I submit them and all he said was "That bandit!!!"

Great shots Iz, #a 4&6 for me. Can't tell that they were shot through glass, good job.
What's the 'halo' around the foreground foliage? Is this from your PP?
I like that you can see the little claw marks from their coming and going.
Chipmunks = Mice in nice clothes.

A smile for Sunday morning Izzie. Thanks for that. Nice series and story. These look to be heavy crops, presumably hence the "wrong lens" but that doesn't impact on the story. What lens were you using?

Yes...Jack...I forgot to blur the edges. How atrocious looking!!! Sorry...I only noticed it now that you mentioned it...I have to fix that...

Yes, I like chipmunks...we have about 200marks on the cage we trap them in before we bring them to the reserve over the bridge at St. Charges. This is the one that get away so far. Now we know it was because of my bird cage there. S/he took advantage of it while I shut the door. You see, I always make it a point to put the bird feeder in at night away from night critters. If hubby finds out that these and other critters gravitate towards my feeder at night, I am afraid he might curtail my shooting experience... I had invited ants in my kitchen once this period to photograph and I got into trouble...

Thanks Jack, I am glad you came along and gave me a feedback and correction task...

Yes, Very heavy. The wrong lens was the 105mm Sigma macro lens that was connected to the D810 as I was practicing on bug photography on the other side of the kitchenette at the time. I was about 12 + feet away from my intended target.

Thanks for passing by, John. IO do appreciate your comments.

Not really...just me and my husband at the time and since I was doing my photography he got out of the way quick smart. LOL

Thank you for passing by. I was hoping you will comment on my post...I still misses your birds as I learned a lot from just looking at the images and still confused about aperture priority so I am reading about it, the do's and where not to use and all that. From using the manual option, and just shutter priority for airplanes for so long, I keep forgetting. I am studying kelvin scales lately. Nothing concrete yet but I like it. Thanks again.

That little creature can create so much commotion.
We have squirrels more so than chipmunks and equally
    undesired.
Made for interesting subject matter for your photography session.
    Well done.

Haha nice series Izzie, almost like a mini time-lapse video the way you've captured him moving along that rail.

Re: The Great Escape...for C&C of course..

We used to trap squirrels before we had these two little doggies and all of them enjoys chasing them and can smell them even from inside the house...(I think corgis have hound little noses...) so we do not trap them anymore...it gives the kids something to do and run and exercise in the backyard... the little chipmunks we trap and drive them over the the Missouri River across to St. Charles' reserve. They are cute little buggers and good diggers too! Now that I had already photographed one, I think I will give him a rest and agree to trapping him and his relations from now on...LOL

Thanks for passing by, Irene...I am glad you enjoy my image sequences here...

Izzie, there are lots of bird photographers to learn from here some of whom use the aperture priority. I know I have learned from many of them. Recently I have been posting my photos on a state birding photography group. It is the perfect audience for my work as they never bore of seeing birds I will post again but just thought I might give everyone a break from my boring birds

That is cute...lucky you! I cannot comment if I am listening to something else, extra something while viewing images for C&C is a distraction to me. But that is a nice music to listen too but I guess I cannot multi-task much...Thank you for the extra comment...
