    Gas Mask - Revisited

Based on the comments on my previous gas mask shot, my daughter and I sat down and did a reshoot this afternoon.

I ditched the beauty disk and went to two soft boxes and came out with a less edgy look. We kept the hair out of her eyes as well and used her long hair as a prop. Both eyes are showing in this version.

I like this much more than the first version. That there is nothing to be see outside the mask but hair and darkness is good. The eyes are clear and dramatic.

The symbolism of the usual circumstances where a gas mask might be used is not there because there is softer look but for me that makes it easier to look at.

My reaction to this, despite reading your comment about using if for a job around the house, was what a lot of junk we accumulate if we stay in our own house[s] over the years. I last saw one of these around 1939 in the UK when we were issued with one at the start of WWII My current accumulation started in 1967 and I have a small house and four garden sheds housing the overflow

Your daughter's hair makes for a very appealing prop in this one, Manfred. I did love the lighting in the first, but I am glad to have the benefit of seeing the difference between the two kinds of modifiers.

All been said Manfred. I like this one better. Same high quality, the eyes are captivating and her hair is used to such good effect. Nice work.

Beautifully lit. That's what strikes me most about this. The tones on her and on the mask, are wonderful.
