Ideally, Stu, I would have preferred to see more or preferably none of that bit of foliage in the top right corner of #1. Otherwise it looks good to me.
#2 is an interesting scene; although possibly very fractionally on the tight side and you are starting to lose focus on the right side. Maybe the yellowish background is slightly on the bright side?
#3 looks good to me.
The beaver shot rocks.
Geoff - thanks for the feedback. I went back and re-cropped photo #1 to save a bit more of the tree that was overhanging. I think this is better. My goal was to use the tree above and the tree down by the water to frame one side of the photo and give it depth.
I agree the tall grass in #2 is awfully bright and may take away from the main subject. I'll have a go at seeing if I can reduce the intensity a bit.
Thanks for the review.
Nice captures.
I like all of these very much.
As I see it, the second version of #1 lacks the colour of the original in the foreground - the blue in the water and the red in the logs. But I am looking at it on the iPad which does not always render colours well.
With the wider version of #1 that extra length in the fallen trees is even better at guiding the viewer towards the image centre
I think the second version has too much green tint...I like the first one better...and the geese...and the critter. All nicely shot...
All very nice images, I prefer the original edit of #1
