Superb photography.
My only question is about the final presentation. Does it need all that space on the left-hand side? What would it be like if you cropped it to put the end tip of the wing closer to the left hand edge? Just an idea!
Nicely done.
Many thanks, John.
Tom, very nice capture. I like the angle of the light.
Magnificent light! I think that the space on the left is needed.. Otherwise it would be centered and less interesting.
Very beautiful ... what did you do to make it sit longer for the shoot? Honey?
Beautiful shot, Tom. Is there flooding near you?
Thanks, Dean. It's much worse south of us - real tragedies going on along the Blanco River, especially in the Wimberley area, where a flood of record - a 42-foot-high wall of water - ripped up homes from their foundations, homes thought to be above the flood plain, and sent them careering downstream. Dozens of people remain missing. In Austin, it was mostly property damage. We fortunately live on the side of a hill west of Austin well out of the way of floods, though we are as vulnerable to winds and lightning as anyone else.
Tom...that is indeed a great shot regardless of the crop that you choose...you might consider, somehow,
putting the head at the end of a golden spiral.
Additionally, if your PP skills are up to it and, because their wings are generally symmetrical...take a
section of the front wing, mold it, and cover the rear OOF wing...just a thought.
Thanks, Chauncey for the kind words and suggestion. I'm afraid my pp skills aren't quite up to the challenge, but it's a darn good idea.
Very nice composition and a beautiful butterfly
Tom, a beautiful shot I really like the composition and the colors are just lovely!
Beautiful shot Barbara. It's not just the composition, the subject and the colour but also the wonderful light shining through its wings that really lift it. Wonderful.
