Jumping Spider Macro Shots...C'mon and look, they're cool!

    Hi Everybody,

I went came home on my lunch break and decided to look out on the back of my house for Jumping Spiders. I found one gorgeous black and white one, captured it and now I have photographs. These were my favorite shots of the 34 or so I took. I tried some more intense lighting kind of like a Spider Man movie might be lite lol. Let me know if you think the light looks good or bad for these shots.

Love jumpers, these are all good shots but for me, #1, the little guy looks embarrassed.

Haha your right she does. I think jumpers are probably my favorite since they have friendly eyes.

You could have zoomed and crop some more like how David does with him...more close-up, aspect ratio crop...all good shots...love them all.....

Zak, these are excellent captures. Lighting is fine, it's always difficult getting enough onto such a small subject. As a matter of interest how large are these? In the UK the jumpers I see are around 1-2 mm in size, which, combined with the ability to move at supersonic rates makes them challenging.

Yeah you're dead on with that. This one was 2mm maybe 3mm. She stayed still for a few seconds every time she'd jump.
