Howdy, friend!
Met this gentleman recently and was able to get a couple of quick shots. Reminiscent of the cowboy movies of the '50s and '60s. C&C please.

Bangin’ shot Dean!
Lot’s of good stuff about this. Great smile. Eyes on a diagonal. They may be a tad low traditionally speaking in the frame (i.e. upper third) and I would probably change it if he weren’t wearing a hat. I kind of like it as is though.
If mine I might do some selective sharpening in some of the facial features (eyes, teeth, eyebrows, etc.) but that’s just me. I might even see if sharpening the entire face a tad might work. Again, could just be me but the shirt seems sharper than the face.
One thing for sure I would do is lift the shadow in the hair on top of his head just under the hat. There is some more of his “salt and pepper” hair in there that could be made to match up better with the rest of his hair rather than looking darker than the rest. Maybe up the overall exposure just a tad (maybe levels).
Just some small stuff.
Nice work Dean. A lot of portraits look forced. The folks end up not really liking them and one can see why. This guy looks totally relaxed and comfortable. It shows in his eyes. It is wildly important that a smiling portrait smiles with the eyes or it has that forced look (if that makes sense). The eyes are where a genuine smile occurs. It is the photographer’s responsibility to get the subject to either understand this, or else do something to make it happen, or both!
I’d say you nailed this one.
