Abstract - cheap seats / standing room only

A continuing look at an abstract shot of the seats at the Himachel Pradesh Cricket Stadium in Dharamsala, India. These are the cheap seats / standing room only area of the stadium. I liked the primary colours and lines here.




Just to keep things in context, this is a more normal view of the stadium area in the shot.




The seats from my previous attempt at abstract can be seen at the back of this shot.

It is an interesting abstract, but what caught my attention was your link.
Looking at the shape of those seats...they don't look like something that I could endure for long.

If the ground is being used just for cricket, since it is a cricket stadium, then it is hard on the butt especially with a slow game as cricket, but if the stadium is also being used for soccer, it is a different story because most soccer fans stand up anyway...

Anyway...I like the abstract version...but better, I like the other shot better...

What I get frustrated by is my lack of vision/imagination to see images like this. I'd never have seen that picture. I think it's gorgeous. Wonderfully composed.

Thanks Donald. These types of shots are part of my self training (i.e. recognizing the opportunity; colours or repeating patterns and then finding a creative way of capturing it). If you start recognizing what they are, photographically, it then becomes a lot easier to identify these and then trying to figure out how to best shoot them (working the shot, all over again.).

The first few attempts might be a bit strange and hesitant, but after awhile, it becomes much more automatic. The harder question to answer is "why are you taking pictures of the seats?". Just give the person asking the question that slightly insane look, and they will back of quietly.
