Two views of a tiny green sweat bee (?) on a daisy
This little one was less than 1 cm long and perhaps 2mm wide, tiny compared to a honey bee or even something like a miner bee. To give you an idea, I was very near minimum working distance with my 100mm macro lens, a 36mm extension tube and a crop-sensor camera, and even so, I had to crop substantially to get these. Bright sunshine, but with diffused flash, 1/125, f/16. C&C welcome, as always.

Plenty of good detail here, including part of the flower.

Did you shoot these while still alive, Dan? Just curious...I have a bee in my freezer and a nice flower to put it on but it has been raining buckets yesterday and couldn't do a photoshoot yet...looks like you had a good day...

Re: Two views of a tiny green sweat bee (?) on a daisy
Thanks, all. Izzie--very much alive. Virtually all of my bug shots are taken of live bugs wherever I find them. This one was working her way repeatedly and fairly quickly counterclockwise among the yellow florets. Didn't give me much time to focus, and she made a small target, so I took about 25 shots to get these two.
