Sorry to be late to this one......but as you know Donald, comms on the West Coast are not good enough for the 21st century. I agree with Manfred that I'm not sure about the square crop....

Having visited the area in the last couple of weeks this image makes me both smile because of the beauty of the landscape and also sad because the evidence of the evictions is everywhere - it was in Sutherland that I was most struck by this and also on Arran. The Assynt community seem to have made great strides recently in protecting their community that I felt the dereliction of these croft houses was no longer so 'dark'

But I do love this shot .....

Thanks, Kaye and I hope you enjoyed your time in the north-west (well, indeed, the whole of Scotland).

Indeed we really did have a great time despite the weather which was unseasonably cold and wet - but you get what you're given and we saw some places we may not have done, e.g the Moray coast and Arran. We have left Harris and Lewis until another time.

I like the format, the mood, the leading lines, the light and everything that has been discussed so far. My only concern is that the brighter areas have the crunchy look of an overly sharpened image, perhaps the result of trying to enhance the texture.
