    I think those spikes are used to ward off predators also. Nicely captured.

    I have absolutely no idea. We have both butterflies and moths that are fair sized. However after a search of the web I 'think' it could be the caterpillar of the Hercules Moth.

    Its a beautiful creature, my only grip is that the head/tail is a little out of focus but I am just nit picking

    Not a nit pick. Fact is that I for reasons that escape me now focused all my shots on the head. But the tail end was so pretty that focused or not I included it in the series.

    As odd as this sounds the Hercules moth is all browns and oranges.
