Most likely caused by the light but...a lot of the detail appears muddy.

+1 to Ziggy's remark on the shadow, Dean...otherwise it is an excellent shot! I like the triangle edges near the eye pointing to the triangle on top of its eye...and the end of the beak looks like a dog's toenail that needs filing...and I better stop before I see something else that makes me smile...

I like the posture, I agree with the other members about removing the shadow on the left
