    Not bad for a sunrise, composition does make the eyes roam around, however not really sure about the foreground/out of focus figures. The two foreground men do help me focus on the smaller figures near the surf and the brilliance of the sun does attract my attention. Nice concept.

    Thanks John for your feedback. I actually wanted to have view on the out of focus foreground concept.

    I have tried shots like this many times but I was never happy with the results.

    I think it only really works if the out of focus areas are sufficiently off to the side and are not a main element of the composition. Otherwise it needs a merge of two or more sharp focus points.

    Having the far distance softly focused usually works but our eyes seem to be accustomed to having the nearest objects in sharp focus.
